چکیده

In this work, the effect of amphiphobic surfaces on rheological behavior and boundary slip shear thickening fluids (STFs) was investigated. The experimental results suggested viscosities were diminished, delayed weakened, an ultrahigh drag reduction obtained. Furthermore, length observed to vary with rate. Dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) simulations adopted further investigate these specific rheology behavior. simulation conformed experiments established a linear relationship between viscosity. We consider study could be conducive practical reference for investigation in complex possibly crucial protocol analyzing STFs’ manipulation.

Non-Newtonian behavior in simple fluids.

Using nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations, we study the non-Newtonian rheology of a microscopic sample of simple fluid. The calculations were performed using a configurational thermostat which unlike previous nonequilibrium molecular dynamics or nonequilibrium Brownian dynamics methods does not exert any additional constraint on the flow profile. Our findings are in agreement with exp...

Dynamic Behavior of Non-Newtonian Droplets Impinging on Solid Surfaces

This article illustrates the spreading and receding characteristics of non-Newtonian droplets impinging on solid surfaces at different Weber numbers. A xanthan gum solution was used to generate non-Newtonian droplets. From digital images captured using a high speed camera, spreading diameters and dynamic contact angles (DCA) were measured during the impact process. Depending on impact velocity,...

On Objectivity, Irreversibility and Non-Newtonian Fluids

Early progress in non-Newtonian fluid mechanics was facilitated by the emergence of two fundamental and complementary principles: objective constitutive characterizations and unambiguous identification of irreversible processes. Motivated by practical and economic concerns in recent years, this line of fluid research has expanded to include debris flows, slurries, biofluids and fluid-solid mixt...

Time-periodic Electroosmotic Flow of Non-newtonian Fluids in Microchannels

The alternating current electroosmotic flow of a non-Newtonian power-law fluid is studied in a circular microchannel. A numerical method is employed to solve the non-linear Poisson-Boltzmann and the momentum equations. The main parameters which affect the flow field are the flow behavior index, the dimensionless zeta potential and the dimensionless frequency. At very low dimensionless frequenci...
